Kalimba Video Songbook: 30 Songs / 6 Genres – no music notes
In this course you will learn how to play 30 songs from 6 genres on the Kalimba (with 17 tines) – and that without previous musical knowledge, you don’t even have to be able to read music notes.
We start with the basic playing techniques (holding the Kalimba and playing the first notes) and refine them with a few simple exercises. If the basis and playing the notes works, you can practice and deepen melody playing with 30 well-known and popular songs from 6 genres.
The melodies and an accompanying band can be heard in the song videos, the well-known “Karaoke” technique underlines the tine symbols to be played in the tablature – you can see what you hear. In addition, an animated graphic of a Kalimba shows where the tines are. And all of this with increasing difficulty – this is how you learn the instrument, and not just the songs in this course.
The songs included:
Folk: Oh my darling Clementine / Oh Susanna / Aura Lee (Love me tender) / Tom Dooley / Yankee Doodle / Song from Ireland & Great Britain: Byker Hill / The Croppy Boy / Scarborough Fair / Eileen Aroon / Loch Lomond / german Folk songs: Die Gedanken sind frei / Im Frühtau zu Berge wir ziehn / Im Märzen der Bauer / Kein schöner Land / Wem Gott will rechte Gunst erweisen / Childrens songs: Au claire de la lune / Hänschen klein / Hush, little baby / Kommt ein Vogel geflogen / Twinkle, twinkle, little star / Christmas songs: Oh Du fröhliche / Away in a manger / Christmas is coming / Ihr Kinderlein kommet / I Saw Three Ships / Classical music: Choralfantasie / Eurovisionsmelodie / Üb immer Treu und Redlichkeit / Thema aus dem Klarinettenkonzert KV622 / Thema aus der 6.
