Songbook with 30 Old Irish Jigs – simply notated for the Chromatic Harmonica.
The Jig is both a lively folk dance from across the British Isles and the underlying melody. It was widespread in England in the 16th century, only later becoming the typical dance of Ireland. In Irish folk music, the jig remains the most popular tune type after the reel.
The notes of the melodies have been arranged with simple symbols, and the rhythm of the notes is indicated by standard musical notation.
The sounds are available online in a sound player with adjustable playback speed, and videos explain how to read the music. The web address and access details are in the book.
For advanced players.
